Meeting Highlights
"A Bridge to New Friendships"
The topic of our April meeting was Weather Preparedness, and Kathryn Martin and LeAnn
Rumsey from CJs Bus were present to talk to everyone about the topic. They talked about the
importance of having a weather radio in your home to help be prepared for dangerous weather.
Weather radios can be purchased at many electronics retailers, such as Radio Shack, or you can
find them online.
We also presented a check to CJs Bus for $3,300.00 as a result of our fundraising efforts.

The Welcome Wagon Club of Newburgh is on vacation! General meetings will resume in
September 2009. Several activity groups will continue to meet through the summer. Those

Our charity for the year is CJ's
Bus. CJ's Bus is a
rapid-response, self-contained
mobile recreation unit which is
deployed to disaster sites
nationwide in order to keep
children distracted and
entertained in a safe group
environment in the immediate
aftermath phase of natural or
man-made disasters. We will be
hosting several events
throughout the year to raise
money for our charity. For more
